Challenge: Multi-Material Printing

Explore the boundaries of multi-color and multi-material additive manufacturing! Whether you use an AMS, MMU, toolchanger, IDEX, manual filament swapping, or dual extrusion, show off what is possible when combining colors and materials in a single print.

The Focus: Multi-Color & Multi-Material Mastery

The goal is to showcase prints that utilize more than one material or color:

• Multi-Color Aesthetic Models: HueForge paintings, color-separated figurines, badges, and decorative art.
• Multi-Material Functional Prints: Rigid bodies with TPU flexible gaskets/grips, dissolvable/PETG support interfaces for flawless overhangs, or contrasting text inserts.
• Manual Layer Swaps: Single-extruder layer-pause color swaps for signage and high-contrast designs.

Submission Requirements

• Physical Model: Bring your multi-material/multi-color print to the November 18th, 2026 meetup.
• Open to All Setups: Automated filament systems (Bambu AMS, Prusa MMU, Voron StealthBurner ERCF, Snapmaker), multi-toolheads, or manual pause-at-layer color changes all qualify!
• The Story: Share your workflow, slicer tips (purge tower optimization, flush volumes, interface materials), and how you dialed in your print.

Judging & Prize

• Voting: Community members present at the November meetup will vote on favorite prints based on execution, color design, and technical mastery.
• Prize: The winner will receive a free spool of filament!

• Challenge Announcement: October 28th, 2026 (at the October meetup)
• Show & Tell / Voting: November 18th, 2026 (during the November meetup)
• Winner Announcement: November 18th, 2026 (end of the November meetup)
