Challenge: Scarf Seams

Master the art of scarf seam placement! This month's challenge focused on dialing in your scarf seam settings and techniques.

The Focus

The scarf seam is a powerful tool in your 3D printing arsenal. This challenge asked participants to create a model with a carefully placed scarf seam on a sphere. It provided an opportunity to experiment with different settings and share what was learned about getting the perfect seam placement.

Submission Requirements

• Physical Model: Brought to the July 15th, 2026 meetup.
• Size Constraint: The object had to fit within a 75mm cubed space.
• Seam Location: The seam was positioned on a sphere (the bottom half square approach was permitted).
• Settings Discussion: Participants shared their print settings, temperature, speed, and tricks for achieving clean scarf seams.
